Evangelist Richard Gelso

I accepted Jesus in 1993 when I was 40 years old. I spent my life as a street guy making a living and did not know about God for many years. In 1993, I fell into many problems and I did not find any solutions to those problems.

Then, I came to know about our Father’s Son, Jesus, and their love, mercy, and grace. I began praying and reading the Bible. God changed my life, including that He provided solutions to all of my problems.

I started to grow within the Spirit and God’s Word. I prayed and told the Lord, “I want to serve you. Please guide me.”

The Lord answered my prayer! I began helping children of God who were serving the Lord. The Lord blessed me greatly to facilitate servants in bringing souls to accept Jesus as their Savior. This moved my heart to be involved in any way with serving the Lord because I knew how undeserving that I was. But specifically winning souls for Jesus became a heart filled passion. Because I was lost the same way that many others are, the grace of the Lord helped me to lead others to the solution of their problems through Jesus as well.

In 2010, I met Brother Khalid ‘Sam’ Bhatti, a Christian Pastor from Pakistan. The Holy Spirit brought us together to help bring souls to Jesus in Pakistan. Pastor Sam had a Christian church, youth group, and Evangelical ministry. My calling was to facilitate in various ways to help increase the work of God through Pastor Sam. This included prayer, distributing free Bibles, Evangelical work, and services within a Christian orphanage.

Pastor Sam was under incredible persecution in Pakistan. He testifies that although he didn’t realize it at the time, he was led by the Lord through a series of events to conduct missionary work in Thailand for 7 years. It gave me great pleasure to help Pastor Sam conduct his full time missionary service and daily hard work in Thailand, to bring as many souls as possible to Jesus for the glory of God. The Lord continually directed me to help Pastor Sam through steady ongoing communication including for logistical support, encouragement, fellowship, Bibles and prayer.

During this same time period from approximately 2010 until currently, I have had ongoing communications for the glory of God, with Minister James Rathman. James, Pastor Sam and I, are on a joint venture to serve the Lord through varying ways internationally as well as in most states within the United Sates.

Our unique group, The Team, as we call it, from varying regions and backgrounds, network with many other Pastors and individuals, brought together by and for the glory of God. We never had to discuss what our mission was. We simply, full time, seven days a week, have worked together, having the same set of goals and plans in mind for serving the Lord: To bring as many people to Jesus for salvation as possible.

Today, I marvel at the love and grace of the Lord. He took someone like me, and now through God’s guidance, I have been able to expand my gratitude to the Lord for His mercy, with our missionary work continually expanding and reaching more and more people for the glory of God.

I was blind like Paul, and now through Jesus I can see, including the separation between the sheep and the goats. I was lost, hungry, and thirsty for something that I did not know existed or that I needed. Now, I am humbled and grateful to help others who are also lost, hungry, and thirsty for our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Ecclesiastes 3:13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.

Jesus said in Matthew 25:35 For I was a hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
